Dr. Tanjir Soron is a Certified Psychiatrist who received his MD residency training from the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He is the first telepsychiatrist in Bangladesh with the experience of planning and developing technology-based mental health services in resource-poor settings. The first nationwide mobile-based mental health service “Mind Tale” was established under his leadership and he is working as Head of the project since 2016. He established “Telepsychiatry Research and Innovation Network Ltd” which is one the leading organization dedicated to providing technology-based mental health service in LMIC. He also holds the position of Consultant of Research and Innovation in Neuro-Developmental Disability Protection Trust- a dedicated government organization focused on improving the quality of life of a person with Neuro-Developmental Disabilities (NDDs). His key research area of interest is exploring mobile and Facebook-based mental health interventions for children and adolescents Dr. Tanjir is on the editorial board for the Interactive Journal of Medical Research (IJMR). He is a Commonwealth Scholar, recipient of the Paramjit Toor Joshi, MD, International Scholars Award -2017 from The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and Fellowship from World Psychiatric Association. He has been an invited speaker in different countries and different platforms.
